Forever 21 Spring Sale

Hello there budgetistas!

So it's that time of year... tax return season!! What better time than to find GREAT deals shopping right??  A lot of stores are transitioning into spring attire for the new season which means it is the perfect opportunity for us to be on the prowl!  During my regular online shopping (during class....)  I stumbled upon Forever 21's SPRING SALE!

The opening banner for the website announces that there are over 2000 new pieces in the Spring line which means they are cleaning out their current stock, which is great news!! There are hundreds of pieces that need to be added to my wardrobe, and I am sure you can find a few things too!  I am definitely looking for layering pieces and maybe a cute dress!

What are you looking for?? Any other Spring sales you want to spread to the rest of our style community?

Till next time!

NYX deals on Hautelook!!

Hello ladies!
School is in FULL swing for us, so we apologize for our silence!
I just wanted to update about the NYX products that are featured on Hautelook this week.
I have a few NYX palettes and I love them, so I'd encourage you to try them out! (Especially for this price!)
Me? I'm on the ten pan challenge and will not be purchasing makeup until ten of my items hit the pan... so I'm just window shopping for now!
Show me the cheap makeup!

Budget storage solution: hair appliances

Hey all!

I have been plagued with the problem of not having proper storage for my hot tools since... forever.
Christmas break I just started doing this. It's all curling irons and flat irons.
This is just a simple wicker basket from Wal-Mart that I bought for around 5 bucks!

I'm really interested to hear about how you guys store your hair appliances!

Thanks for wearing your PJ's inside out!

We had a snow day today!! Holla!
Every year when there's a snow day, all of our girlfriends get together and walk to Dunkin' Donuts. (It's literally right down the street). Today, about 20 girls met outside of our apartment complex and trekked through the snow. This was our biggest group yet.
A lot of us are seniors with little time for hanging out (we have internships, a lot of work, student teaching...) so our time today was such a blessing.
If you had a snow day today, we hope you're relaxing or spending time with friends/family,
xoxoxo

I'm five years old and this has nothing to do with beauty or bargainsI

I'm 21 and I'm superstitious.
Have you seen the forecast?
Sleep with your PJ's inside out or else.
If I don't have a snow day tomorrow and you slept with normal pj's or didn't put a spoon under your pillow, I'm blaming you.

I've got cankles.

Is that how you spell it?
I don't have any ankles...
WHY!!!? Is there something that can be done?
Reconstructive ankle surgery or something?
I look stupid in flats and according to this picture, I look even stupider in ankle boots. WAH.
On the bright side, my slip dress was $4.58 at Target!!
Well... The Lord Giveth me a cute dress and Taketh away cute ankles.
Ps. I forgot to pack a jacket... so I pretty much wore my chunky sweater everyday.

Now that I'm home from Tenny, I can't wait to read your blogs and see how your weeks have been. xoxoxo <3 Blondes on a Budget (Lynn)

Organization: Another Beauty Must

Hello there budgetistas!

I am so excited to share with you all my bargain finds for my makeup desk!  I am TOTALLY a visual person (which could explain why my clothes are always sprawled out over my room.)  When it comes to my makeup I like to be able to see everything to make the right color selection.  For a while I had a three-tiered carrying case from Target which is PERFECT for travel and was only $7!

For Christmas this year I selected a nail polish rack from a nail salon distributer and found one for only $15!  It holds all brands including my favorite O.P.I. and other beauty tools too I have found!
I have been able to fit all of my favorite nail polish on it, with some room to spare for other products!  I also found the white and clear mini-drawer storage unit at the DOLLAR GENERAL for $5!  It is just as sturdy as any of the ones that you would find at Target!

And last, but not least, my favorite is the clear cotton pad holder next to it I got at CHRISTMAS TREE SHOPPE for $7!  It is a life saver let me tell you!  I never have to scrounge for cotton balls anymore!

What are some of your favorite bargain storage techniques?

Until Next Time!

In a few hours, I'll be in Tennessee :D!!

I just wanted to show you guys the things that I believe are a must on the plane.
aka: items that aren't in my carry-on or regular luggage aka: the items in my PURSE.

I'm also super excited to show off my new bag from H&M (which I got today YIPEE).
My airport must haves::
1. Wallet-- DUH! ID. Money. Passport. keys. The essentials)
2. My Nook.-- Gotta read something.
3. LipGloss. -- My lips get SO dry on the plane so I have an assortment of lip care items to hydrate them.
4. Gloves-- I get cold. I also will be wearing a huge scarf.
5. Wisps.-- Do you know what these are... they're like mini toothbrushes. complete with toothpaste. I mean come on, these are necessary!!
6. A waterbottle. (I'm stupid. I just remembered that they'll take this away two minutes after I arrive. UGH)
7. I will probably buy a waterbottle.
8. SUNGLASSES!! Hopefully the south will be sunny.

I really enjoy the sights and sounds and the hustle and bustle of the airport so I'm content with a small amount of stuff to keep me entertained.

What are your traveling essentials?

See ya in Tenny!

The Wonder of Coconut Oil

Hey all!

I am constantly on the search for a better deep conditioner for my hair. A few months ago I told you about the olive oil conditioner I used. That was okay but it's messy and doesn't really smell that good. The answer comes in the form of Coconut Oil!

I purchased mine from ebay for $2.50 for 4 solid ounces. It doesn't sound like a lot, for a liquid. But since it is a solid it lasts much longer! I scoop out about a quarter-size amount at a time to melt in my palm then run it through my dampened-hair tips. After doing that about 3 more times, I do it once to my roots. Then shampoo it out anywhere from 2-12 hours later.

However, refined coconut oil does not smell like coconuts. You must purchase virgin coconut oil for it to smell like the delicious fruit!

Here is the video where I learned how to use coconut oil:

What works for you as a deep conditioner?

Hugs and happy hair!

Walgreens!!

So the other day I went to Walgreens with my grandmother. We were originally there to pick up vitamins, lotion, and feminine products... BUT there was a huge sale on makeup. Revlon makeup was buy one get one 50% off so I decided to try some new things. The Mascara is decent... The lipstick is FANTASTIC, and the tru-blend (covergirl product) came kind of messed up, but I really like it. It was nice to try some new products and not pay an outrageous amount of money.
I love reading about the deals that you've found!!!

Target is good to me

A couple of days ago I perused the clearance aisles at target and came away with some pretty awesome finds.
I got a mirror bottomed wooden serving tray for only $5. It's now under my perfume and jewelry.
Vase filler, perfect for those sephora inspired brush holders, for 2.50. It normally retails somewhere around 6 for a much smaller package.
A few storage items such as the clear plastic case, tumbler, and pencil cup shown all for less than $4.
An elf lip palette for only 3.50. So far, its great! Has an awesome texture and ok staying power.
The most exciting purchase of all!! A viva la juicy gift set for $15!! The .5 ounce of perfume alone retails for $24. So its a major discount.
So, go! Check out your local targets clearance for some awesome discounts!

Hugs and happiness

Budget storage idea: bobby pins

Hey all!

If you're anything like me you've gone through countless bobby over the years. Here is one cute little trick I figured out for a practical and cost effective storage solution to my ever-diminishing bobby pin population.
An old shot glass! It was just lying around unused in my brothers room (after he moved out Haha) and its the perfect height for mini, regular and large pins. There's even a spin pin and tweezers hanging out in there!
Hope this inspires you!

Do you have any cute, cheap, or original storage solutions?

Hugs and clutter free desks!

New Year, New DEALS

Hello there Budgetistas!

I trust you all had a good new year!  So although I have been keeping my budget extra tight not working over Winter Break, I have been searching for new ways to save in the upcoming weeks!

First off, I want to mention to you my FAVORITE website for the BEST deals on designer products. From housewares, to apparel, to MAKEUP (my favorite), this website provides legitimate deals of up to 80% off retail value!  Last week I received my urban decay deals which were ALL marked down to $2 a piece!  So I received my eyeshadow which was typically $18 for $2!  The only catch with this site is that shipping is a flat rate of $6.95 which is on the higher end, and you have to wait about 2 weeks to receive the product as it must first go from the distributor to the Haute Look warehouse and then to your front door!  I have been highly satisfied with EVERY purchase I have made with them!

Keep looking for future posts about other AMAZING websites.  Honestly, I NEVER want to shop in the mall again.  Full retail price is NEVER necessary!

Until next time!

Jordan's first MAC purchase

Hey all!

Mac might be out of your price range (it's definitely out of mine! haha) but my awesome boss gave me a MAC gift card for my birthday so I went to try it out!
(sorry I look so funky, I'm terrible at taking pictures of myself haha)

I am trying MAC's Studio fix fluid in NW15. So far, it's great! I tried using a brush like the mac artist said, but that didn't work so well and I ended up just using my fingers. The coverage is pretty darn good. I used considerably less concealer today on my red face than I normally do.
So far, love it!

Hugs and pretty faces!

Old Navyyy!

Hi Ladiesss!!
Old Navy is having their after holiday sale.
Online and in the store...

check out some of their styles.
WARNING: When it comes to Old Navy, I always have to try things on because I feel like every item of clothing fits differently. It's not like other stores where I know my size. Nothing is the same. I suggest going into the store and trying on the sale items instead of buying online.
Click here for some sweet deals!

There's an entire section of the makeup area at Target dedicted to ELF

That's right... The bargain makeup brand "Eyes Lips Face" (ELF) has it's own section in my Target!
AHHHH..
Because I'm trying to save my money for my upcoming Tennessee vacation, I limited my spending and only bought four things.

1. Makeup removing cloths -- (I think I reviewed these in an earlier post. I don't LOVE them but I feel like I need to buy them all the time... when I run out I feel lost)
2. Lip Stain and Gloss duo -- the color is like a bubblegum pink and it doesn't exactly stain my lips but I LOVE THIS THING. Seriously, it just makes my lips feel healthy and it give me just the right amount of color. One duo costs about $3.00. They're apart of the studio line.
3. Liner and Shadow Duo in Black. -- I bought this because I wanted to try another kind of liner. (I'm all about liquid right now) This liner is sort of like a small crayon or a thick colored pencil... It's super black which I like but within five minutes it'll show up on the top of your lid. The shadow color is nice too, kind of like a charcoal or something, but within five minutes it'll be caked in your crease. I don't love it... I gotta try it more.
4. Liner and Shadow Duo in Purple. -- Same review as above just make sure you use eye-makeup remover to completely get it off or you'll wake up looking like a crack head.

I honestly enjoy buying makeup and trying different looks

and with ELF I honestly like more products than I dislike (just not this time lol)
It's nice because I didn't spend an arm and a leg on any of these products.

Let me know if you've found any makeup winners or losers!!

New Year New Underwear!!

It always feels good to have new underwear and bras ...
Personally, I've had my eye on some of the cheetah print bras.
Right now, Victoria's Secret is having their semi-annual sale.
If you love your vicky secret underwear, then take advantage of this sale!
I try to save giftcards or set a little money aside for these sales because I can't bring myself to spend
$50.00 on a bra. The semi-annual sale is a great opportunity for us budget girls to have fancy underwear without spending all of our money.
GO OUT AND GET YOUR PANTIESSS
HOLLA!!!
