The Wonder of Coconut Oil

Hey all!

I am constantly on the search for a better deep conditioner for my hair. A few months ago I told you about the olive oil conditioner I used. That was okay but it's messy and doesn't really smell that good. The answer comes in the form of Coconut Oil!

I purchased mine from ebay for $2.50 for 4 solid ounces. It doesn't sound like a lot, for a liquid. But since it is a solid it lasts much longer! I scoop out about a quarter-size amount at a time to melt in my palm then run it through my dampened-hair tips. After doing that about 3 more times, I do it once to my roots. Then shampoo it out anywhere from 2-12 hours later.

However, refined coconut oil does not smell like coconuts. You must purchase virgin coconut oil for it to smell like the delicious fruit!

Here is the video where I learned how to use coconut oil:

What works for you as a deep conditioner?

Hugs and happy hair!
